Parallely from Portugal i have received today these two special purchases.
First is a half-post-ipod-consumer-gadget half-relax-meditation-toy. The FM3 Buddha Machine. Its hard to explain in a few words, but is a lo-fi “cheap” plastic gadget Made in China that comes with 9 pre-recorded ambiental loops that after switching on plays them endesly until you switch between them with its only button.

There are some interesting reviews that can approach you to the concept:
““Beautifully useless” (New York Times)
“Addictive, spellbinding, hypnotic” (Santa Fe Reporter)
“Insanely brilliant” (Alan Bishop, Sun City Girls)
“Defiantly rough” (Wall Street Journal)
…
Brian Eno, Robert Henke and many others like the artists Jukebox Buddha compilation on Staubgold label have been inspired by this object… Its really interesting the Boomkat Interview to its creators: Christiaan Virant and Zhang Jian.
